My trip to Jordan this winter was such a fantastic globe trot experience. I managed to meet up and stay with a fellow GT in Amman, had a relaxing stay at a 5 star resort at the Dead Sea and trotted through Petra on a horse and carriage. Yeah, this was an epic vacation! Well, it dawned on me recently that I hadn’t had a chance to document my glorious day at Wadi Rum (also known as Valley of the Moon) with you all yet! Now I’ve lived in the Middle East over a year now, but I never seen a desert quite like this one before.
Life has been pretty busy but I wanted to share with you all some stunning pictures and video from my time there. I had a great day trip with Jordan Tracks after a referral from a fellow globetrotter in the iluv2globetrot travel community. I totally felt like I was in a scene of an Arabian movie while there, Lawrence of Arabia anyone! This place is a Must See if you are planning to trot to Jordan.
If you are really adventurous, you can camp out overnight under the night stars in a traditional bedouin tent..which I opted not to do this time around as it was winter. From having lunch with our bedouin tour guide to trekking past camels in the red desert, Wadi Rum will humble you and leave you speechless at the same time from its beauty. Check out the below photo diary of my trek through Wadi Rum with a nice father and son duo from Poland. Enjoy globetrotters!
I wanna goooooo, thanks for sharing
Great pics! The expanse of the desert seems like it would be overwhelming. I’m having visions of sandstorms smothering me in my tent. Lol.
Haha thanks! Yes we did recently have a small sandstorm here in Oman, but nothing compared to what they had got it Saudi!
These photos are fantastic. Great shots. And the rock formations are exquisite!
How amazing! These pictures speak for themselves. I’m going to be in the middle east soon. Definitely adding it to my bucket list.
That’s awesome!
WOW! I would love to experience this! Proud of you for climbing up that rock!
Thanks girl. Yes I was scared at first but was proud of self for overcoming it :-).
This looks like a really fun trip 🙂 Jordan has been on my list of places to travel for a while (specifically Petra), so it is nice to hear about another place I can add to my list to see when I do get over there
Yes it was great. Looking forward to reading about your experience when you trot there Chanel!
