Greetings globetrotters! I hope everyone had a fantastic summer. This summer Renee and I met up after several years of not seeing each other and were delighted to be joined on our trip to Greece with GT Jersi (Angela) Baker, who resides in Charlotte, N.C. We learned of Angela’s amazing spirit and pizazz while trotting with her this summer. She has an amazing story and journey that we felt needed to be shared with the iluv2globetrot travel community. Check out Angela’s GT of the month feature below and enjoy globetrotters. As always, happy globetrotting.
Can you tell the I Luv 2 Globe Trot community a little about yourself (where are you from, what do you do, where are you currently based, hobbies etc).
My name is Angela aka Jersi Baker. I am from Teaneck, NJ, and currently living in Charlotte, NC. I am the founder of a non-profit organization, called Angel in Disguise Inc. Our mission is to help people, including the general public, with task that they are unable or incapable of completing alone. To focus on breast cancer survivors and their families; aiding with lifestyle changes and hope by helping them to “live life now”! My hobbies are serving others, traveling, live concerts, shopping and spending time making memories with family & friends.
How many countries have you traveled to?
I have not kept a count of countries I have visited. I have been traveling since I was 8 years old, and my desire is to see as much of the world as I can. I have visited 5 continents, and this summer I visited 4 countries, and 11 cities on a 30 day journey.
What is your dream destination and why? (think bucket list destinations).
Some of my dream destinations are Cuba, Bali, Vietnam, The Maldives, and Fiji.
What are some challenges you have faced trotting the globe?
Some challenges while trotting is customs, and people trying to prey on tourist. I am looking for a mate that missing puzzle piece, that is hidden somewhere in a box.
Where was your most recent travel destination you trotted to?
My recent destination was, Spain, Morocco, Greece and Germany.
Which, if any, foreign languages do you speak?
I can fake my way thru Spanglish.
What do you have planned for yourself next? (any projects you’d like to promote, etc). Would you ever consider the expat lifestyle to assist with your globe-trotting?
The projects I am currently working on is expanding Angel in Disguise Inc., I recently participated in an Amazing National stage production, that was filmed for internet television to be show in 142 countries called My 2nd Act – Raleigh, NC. I am also working on securing more motivational speaking assignments. I would be an expat for Angel in Disguise Inc., on a non profit level.
What are some words of wisdom you would like to give to future inspiring globe-trotters and expats?
Words I would like to offer are, Time waits for no one, do what makes your HEART smile. My motto is No grass growing under my feet.
