UNESCO Cologne Cathedral, Cologne Germany

By Nicole Brewer

Hello Globe-trotters! Here’s to wishing you a joyous holiday season! I’ve recently had the opportunity to visit the gorgeous city of Cologne not once but twice in the past couple of weeks.  I’m looking forward to the amazing Xmas markets that are sure to come in the region, both in my city Bochum and Cologne so will be back to sight see more.

Nonetheless, as an architecture buff, what was top of my list to check out was the Cologne Cathedral, a UNESCO world heritage site and boy did it live up to all of the hype!  This Gothic masterpiece took more than six centuries to build and the time and effort can be seen in the details! Take a peek at the beauty below but pictures do Not do this place justice. If you ever get a chance to trot to Germany, make sure to squeeze in an afternoon for Cologne to see this Spectacular site for yourself. Enjoy!
