Greetings globetrotters! I hope that you all are doing well and had a great start to spring. I must say that the month of March has been incredible for your girl! I’m so grateful to have some amazing feature opportunties during Women’s History Month no less.

Many of you may know that I’ve been living abroad for over a decade now. I started out my expat journey in South Korea for over 3 years, went to graduate school for a year in Germany and have been in Oman now for over 10 years. That’s 16 years abroad! I recently spoke with two producers at CNBC about my path for their Millennial Money series on CNBC Make It! I literally discussed why I made the decision to first move abroad and haven’t looked back since! Feel free to check out the episode below on their Youtube channel.
Additionally, I was recently contacted by a fellow freelance writer friend to discuss my experiences of traveling to Saudi Arabia as a woman. She included several quotes about my time there with fellow I Luv 2 Globe Trot Co-Founder Renee. Furthermore, the pics that were chosen were given photo credit by Renee so we both managed to get mentions on CNN Travel!
It’s been a great time for your I Luv 2 Globe Trot Co-Founders and we are both incredibly grateful for this travel community and forum. We hope to continue to inspire you all to travel the world, live abroad, and live your best lives! Have you had a chance to see either of the features GTs? If so, please feel free to comment below. Until next time, as always, happy globetrotting!
Hi Nicole, I just finished reading & viewing the great piece about you in Oman. I am so excited for you. I am an 81-year-old African American woman, and back in 2012-13, I was on a Fulbright at Qatar University. (As early as the 1970s, I had worked in Kuwait, so I applied for the Fulbright because I wanted to return to the Gulf area.) While in Qatar, I, along with two very close friends who were visiting me, traveled to Oman & spent a week there. We loved it, and Oman became one of my very favorite places in the world. We loved the people. I always wanted to return there. I am so happy for you & wish you the best. If it’s alright with you, I will live vicariously through your experiences. Btw, my travels began as an EFL teacher in the Peace Corps in Ethiopia in the 1960s. With a degree from Teachers College, Columbia in Teaching EFL & later a PhD in Curriculum & Instruction, focusing on Academic Writing and Reading, I was able to work and live abroad. And I notice you have your eyes on Portugal. Definitely a great place to live. I’ve traveled twice & spent a total of a month there. If I were younger, I’d be living the life that you are. Best to you, Sanna
Thank you so much Sanna! I’m absolutely honored by the kind words and learning more about your journey! You are indeed a trailblazer!
